Clara has always been very fond of music. I sang to her, when I was still pregnant - and played classical music, so she could “listen”, while growing beautiful and strong in my womb. It has actually been proven that, in the third trimester, an unborn baby can recognise her mother’s voice, her native language and even begin to remember word patterns and rhymes!

“Mummy… I am booored!”

Everyone must stay at home these days to help stop the spread of the Corona-virus - and that can be quite a challenge for both adults and kids! Clara misses her nursery and her little friends, and I find it hard to entertain her all the time - (especially as she is not really old enough to watch an entire Disney movie or concentrate too long on a single activity)

There are so many wonderful things about motherhood. Being a mother to a little person, who means everything to me, is by far the most important thing, that has ever happened in my life. Motherhood just puts the whole world into perspective...Nothing else matters except from Clara being a happy and healthy little girl!

I can’t believe that I am about to write this… But Clara is one! My little girl is actually 1 year old. What just happened? More than ever, I am thinking about my mother’s words to me, when Clara was born: “Hold on to the tiny moments and cherish the little snuggles… They grow up so fast!” She was right!

“Children are made readers in the laps of their parents” (Emilie Buchwald)

I don’t know about you, but if there is one thing I remember as a child, it was when my mother read bedtime stories for me! Even though I might prefer Tom Hardy reading stories for me now, (sorry, mum!), I hope, that Clara will enjoy me reading to her - as much as I appreciated my mother reading for me!

Clara loves being in the water - and I love giving her a bath! Bath time is the perfect bonding time for us, but it can also be a little stressful, as we mums want to ensure that our little one is safe, that the water temperature is right, that we are using the right products - and last but not least keep our baby warm afterwards!

There is no doubt, that mum life can be stressful! I think, that I speak for many new mums, when I say, that “worrying is a big part of my day!” I worry over, why Clara sometimes won't sleep, why she wakes up crying in the middle of the night, if I feed her correctly, and when to call the doctor, if she has a fever!(Yes, my doctor knows very well, who I am these days!)
