There are so many wonderful things about motherhood. Being a mother to a little person, who means everything to me, is by far the most important thing, that has ever happened in my life. Motherhood just puts the whole world into perspective...Nothing else matters except from Clara being a happy and healthy little girl!

As some of you might know, it wasn’t easy for me getting pregnant, so when it finally happened after 3 tough IVF treatments, Frenchie and I were ecstatic. I could not wait to meet my little girl – and I could not wait to design her nursery…This very important place, where we going to spend so much time together

The crib… Such an important piece of furniture, that should be your investment piece in the room. You may be thinking this is a temporary item and not worth the expense, but many kids sleep in their cribs for three or more years. Clara’s Wood Mini Crib is from Danish design brand Oliver Furniture and is designed to follow the child’s needs from 0-9 years, as it can be turned into a junior bed! So clever and beautiful, don’t you think? (Posters in wooden frame by Juniqe and clothing from Vertbaudet)

Be sure that the crib meets all the safety standards . This is not the place to buy vintage, or reuse your childhood crib. Clara’s Wood Mini is produced in Europe under sustainable and modern production methods. It is made from solid FSC-certified oak and birch and has been tested and conformed to the strict EU norms for safety and health

100% Silk Cot Sheet from Silky Tots in” Pink Sprinkles”. You might think the silk is unnecessary, but here is what I have found out…Ordinary cotton and bamboo sheets twist and tug the hair causing knotting, matting (and eventually the dreaded baby bald spot). The Silk Cot Sheet allows hair to glide over the surface, eliminating the friction to prevent baby bald spots and bed-head! Love it

Gorgeous 4 tog Swan Quilt from Silver Cross’ newest collection. It is made from 100% cotton and suitable from 12months onwards. The delicate floral design is paired with a unique jacquard stripe and perfectly finished with quilted stitch detail and a stunning swan embroidery

We absolutely love the L Shelf from Rafa Kids. It is quite unique in style –  and very functional with metal rods. (Fits books, hangers, toys and much more)

There’s no way around it… With babies come dirty diapers! We started off with a changing table, that didn’t really live up to my needs, which was a shame – as the only way to make this experience as pleasant as possible is to be sure you have all the essentials close at hand.

So we decided to get a new changing table! My advice? Changing tables don’t come cheap, so If you have the room for a freestanding changing table, be sure to invest in one that has a life beyond your baby. Ours is the Wood Nursery Dresser with 6 drawers from Oliver Furniture. What I love about this beautiful nursery dresser is, that it is so spacious, and when the nursery plate is no longer needed, it can easily be removed – transforming the furniture to a dresser of timeless qualities

Done by Deer Changing Table Mat Dreamy Dots from Small Smart. The powder changing pad has a soft Oeko-tex coating, which makes it water repellent and easy to wipe clean. (The cover is washable at 40 C – yay!)

Done by Deer Round Toy Storage Box Set from Small Smart. Can be used for all kinds of bits and bobs like toys, muslins, nappy sacks, baby hair brushes, washing cloths etc

Speaking of storage… You may have noticed that the tiniest people need the most stuff. Toys, diapers, books, clothes, gear, it all needs to go somewhere. Clara loves books, so we decided to get her a Sirius book storage case on wheels from Vertbaudet. She really loves picking out books and putting them back again!

When Clara started nursery, we realised, that she really loved sitting on a bench and playing at at table. We decided to get the durable and stable B Table and B Bench from Dutch Rafa Kids. Clara is still a bit young for this set, but it works perfectly, when we sit next to her, as parents can sit comfortably at it too.

Bonus-info: The elegant yet sturdy B bench has so many applications around the house. Kids can use it as a table to draw and play on (which Clara does from time to time). Under it, there is plenty of space to put baskets, boxes, a little suitcase – or to play hide and seek

A clothes rail is maybe not the most important thing in a nursery – but I really enjoy seeing Clara’s beautiful dresses and knitwear on display. It does also give extra storage for clothes – Especially the girls will love to use it for dress up clothes and for all their favourite dresses (and shoes like Clara), Kids Clothes Rail 125cm by Oliver Furniture. (Clothing from Wheat and shoes from Angulus)

Super soft wool Rug Neo from Kids Concept. Being Danish, I do love Scandinavian design, and Clara loves her little pull along moose Edvin – also from Kids Concept. (Clothing by SIlverCross Baby)

“Hey, want to join me on my new slide?”

When Clara started in her nursery Maggie and Rose, she was introduced to the slide – and she loved it. So when the Hooga Kids Elephant Slide from Small Smart was given to her as a “pre-Christmas” present, she was overly excited!

The Hooga Slide features a stable ladder with large grip handles and anti-skid steps. It can be used both indoors and outdoors and it was super easy to assemble. (Made from PE environmentally-friendly materials. Non-toxic and not harmful)

Time for a cuddle with Claras new teddy-bear, that she was given from the lovely team at Bovey Castle. We were recently there on a press-trip, and it is the perfect place if you are looking for a luxurious family holiday in Devon

We absolutely love Clara’s new nursery. My mission was to make it stylish, but functional! I think I succeeded really well.

Do you have any pieces, bits and bobs or furniture, that you can’t live without in your little ones nursery? If so, I would love to hear about it?
