Have you seen the Movie “Disney’s Cruella”? If not you should! It is absolutely fabulous – and so is the “Cruella’” inspired Afternoon Tea, that is currently being served in Michelin-starred Celeste at The Lanesborough Hotel in London!

My “Cruella” look of the day! Cool, calm, collected – and a little bit mad! London is the perfect place, if you want to flash a bit of punk/rock 80s style!

“How does the saying go? I am woman, hear me roar” (“Cruella”)

Welcome to The Lanesborough Hotel and Restaurant Celeste! This is the place, where I was treated like a Queen for a day!

Bonus-info: The Lanesborough is a 5-star hotel on Hyde Park Corner in Knightsbridge. The hotel is operated by the Oetker Collection, made in neoclassical style and listed Grade II

Thinking about staying here? It is NOT a bad choice. All rooms come with butlers and there is a spa too! Harrods is about 10 minutes’ walk away, and 10 minutes from there brings you to the V&A, Natural History Museum and the Science Museum in South Kensington. Buckingham Palace is also a 10-minute walk away across the park. The Piccadilly tube line can be caught from the Underground station just opposite the hotel, which can take you to Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Covent Garden in minutes!

Beautiful Michelin-star restaurant Céleste’s powder-blue atrium is lined with Greek-style patterns and mouldings (typical of Neoclassical design) and plush sofas. I absolutely love the richly decorated dining room, which boasts natural rays of light during the day coming from a gorgeous domed glass roof

Let the show begin… I am telling you, people turned their faces, when the table was suddenly covered in “soft smoke” (dry ice)

Ladies and Gents… The Disney Cruella-inspired Afternoon Tea Menu! Doesn’t it look absolutely amazing?

Being French, Frenchie wanted coffee! He was served “The best espresso, he has had in a very long time” – and I was spoiled with a lovely cup of Darjeeling Afternoon black tea

My happy face! If you are looking for the ultimate Afternoon Tea experience in London, this is certainly on my top 5 list!

Bonus-info: Inspired by Disney’s Cruella, The Lanesborough’s  Head Pastry Chef, Kevin Miller, has carefully crafted a limited edition menu that. alongside the classic savoury sandwich favourites and a prawn and squid ink tartlet, features a selection of themed cakes that are a stylish celebration of fashion and rebellion, blending traditional patisserie expertise with an unexpected, modern aesthetic that is utterly Instagrammable and “a little bit mad!” like Cruella herself! Wait for it…

A delicious selection of finger sandwiches and a cheeky prawn and squid ink tartlet, (that put a big smile on Frenchie’s face)

The show stopper!!! Red, black and gold in heavenly harmony! I didn’t want to eat them as they were simply too pretty!

The notorious selection of pastries: Anarchy Reigns: Millionaire shortbred, Runaway Diva: Treacle tartlet with a whipped dulcey ganache garnished with red lips. Fashion makes Art makes Fashion: Raspberry Battenberg cake with cranberry jam. Rebel Heart: White chocolate feuillentine base with yoghurt raspberry mousse and liquid hibiscus centre. Totally Unexpected: Red Choux bun hat with caramelised banana and pecan nut cream (my favourite) and Modern Masterpiece: Gold inside out cheesecake, Blueberry compote, lemon cheesecake with a blackcurrant and violet sauce injection

We also enjoyed the “Scene Stealer” cocktail, which is a must-have (and I can’t enough of the tray of dry ice that comes along! Very theatrical!)

Still dreaming of these…The “Anarchy Reigns” shortbread! Absolutely divine!

To be honest, I have been disappointed a few times, when it comes to the “Scones-part”. Scones should be served warm and freshly made! They are not interesting, if they taste like a dry dessert! That was not the case here! The scones were exactly, how they should be and tasted so, so good with clotted cream and strawberry jam. I brought some home for Clara – and she ate them all with a big smile on her face! Bless her!

What a wonderful afternoon we had! Something I will most certainly remember for a long time. Before leaving you, I am just going to show this very special door! Did you know, that it has only been used one time! And that was the time, the Queen herself came around to visit The Lanesborough! She is the only one, who is allowed to use it (and me of course – maybe not!)

I hope we will be back again soon, as I feel completely in love with The Lanesborough and their very, very professional and warm-hearted staff!

We were invited by The Lanesborough to review “It’s a little bit mad” Disney’s Cruella-inspired Afternoon Tea. All opinions are as always my own!
