Feeling in a festive mood? Or looking for a place, that will make you sing Bing Crosby tunes, the moment, you enter the door? Then I know where you should go! You need to pack your suitcase and book the next train to Lygon Arms in The Cotswolds
Welcome to Lygon Arms…
It is not the first time I have visited this gorgeous historic hotel in the very heart of The Cotswolds, that I hold so dear. We were all here last year for Halloween – but now it was all about Christmas!
As always we were warmly greeted in the cosy reception…
– where the Christmas tree was quite special, as it was decorated with doggy treats! (so sweet)
Our room was placed in The Courtyard (which I had hoped for, as the rooms here are fantastic)
There are seven Courtyard Suites and they are all named after individuals connected to The Lygon Arms
Bonus-info: Open plan suites providing airy, spacious, luxurious rooms are located on the ground floor overlooking individual landscaped terraced gardens and courtyard with the majestic chestnut tree as the centrepiece
Spoiled with gifts and champagne! What’s not to love?
For Clara… Cute, isn’t it?
Everything was as I remembered…The room really embodied true luxury
Each room has a wide screen TV and a Nespresso machine. All with air cooling, the Courtyard Suites feature large bathrooms, two basins and a walk-in shower. When it comes to staying with the family, each suite has a sofa bed for those who bring children. Clara was given a cot bed…
– But it was pretty clear from the beginning, that she intended to sleep in the King size bed. We didn’t mind though, as there was more than enough space for the three of us! Got to love big beds!
This came as a bit of a surprise! Two lovely Christmas stockings were hanging on the wall – just waiting for us to see, what was hidden inside!
We got spoiled… Inside the Christmas stockings there were delicious chocolates, a teddybear, books, cute socks for Clara, gin, nail polish, beauty products and much more… Bonus-info: Guests staying on Christmas eve will wake up to a stocking just like we did! Such a lovely idea, don’t you think?
– and if this wasn’t enough, I was also gifted the most beautiful leopard wool/silk scarf and two silver leopard print baubles from Cotswolds Trading! Cotswold Trading is an award winning destination store, that specialises in homeware and gifts. Bonus-info: Get 10% off any of the products (excl. sale items, alcohol and gift vouchers) by using this code: LOUISELOVES
Clara was ready to go back to the beautifully decorated hotel…
– of course wearing some of her adorable Christmas outfits, that I had brought along. (Snowman Appliqué cardigan, Rachel Riley and Minibanda tartan shorts, Cutenesschildrenfashion)
This little one had the time of her life exploring the different rooms at Lygon Arms. Got to love the Hunter wellies, that you are free to borrow!
Weeeee….
Don’t forget to visit the Spa, while you are here! There are so many pampering treatments to enjoy, a gym, a sauna and a heated indoor pool
The Lygon Bar and Grill looked lovelier than ever! I always loose my breath when entering this room!
As cosy as it gets! Hanging out with daddy by the fireplace before dinner
We were lucky enough to eat at the Lygon Bar and Grill two evenings. Here are a few examples of the wonderful dishes, we were served…
My absolute favourite! The twice baked Emmentale soufflé! Once a cheese-lover, always a cheese-lover!
The Lygon Bar and Grill is a relaxed and informal eating space. The grill offers a seasonal British menu that celebrates local ingredients in an imaginative way. You can most certainly feel (and taste), that the highest-quality produce is at the heart of all dishes
Frenchie loves Fish and Chips – this one did not dissapoint!
I think someone wanted a grape – and couldn’t wait until I was done taking my photo!
Stunning view from above! I will never get tired of this place!
We all slept really well, that night – especially Clara with her new teddy bear!
After breakfast it was time for a walk… It was a rainy day, so we decided to have a look at all the lovely shops lying just a few mins walk from Lygon Arms
The beautiful and historic Cotswold village of Broadway is a memorable place to stay and enjoy stunning walks. The pretty High Street is lined with horse chestnut trees and includes a mixture of period houses and picturesque honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages
Cotswold Trading is one of shops that you really must visit…
In here you will find big brand names like Orla Kiely, Garden Trading, Cath Kidston og Voyage Maison to independent boutique designers like Powder Design, Bronte by Moon and Inoutoosh (where my gorgeous scarf is from) Get 10% off everything by using this code: LOUISELOVES
In “Whatever the Weather” I found the most beautiful angel for my mother! She is going to have a new home in Denmark
Rikki Tikki is a great toy/ clothing store, where you will find a lot of trendy children’s brands
A very tempting place to bring your little ones…
No wonder that this picture postcard village is a popular tourist destination… Broadway is beautiful and historic – ideal for those who love picturesque landscapes, excellent cuisine, and rich cultural heritage
Back in our Courtyard Suite Clara was all dressed up for our upcoming Afternoon Tea
It was super cosy in the Terrace Restaurant…
What could be more quintessentially English than Afternoon Tea in the Cotswolds? And here this traditional past-time is served against the backdrop of over 600 years of history! It does not get much better than this!
Well – actually it does, as we were having a glass of Veuve Clicqout with our Afternoon Tea!
Bonus-info: In December, Lygon Arms serves a special Festive Afternoon Tea! I simply adore the little gingerbread man!
A tartan dress is a must for Christmas. I always wore one as a child… A shame this one doesn’t come in an adult size!
Frenchie and Clara having the best time! Can’t believe how much she looks like her father!
Checking out the different bars at Lygon Arms. I could definitely have enjoyed a few drinks here… But when you have a little one, things are different! Luckily there was champagne and television in our luxurious suite (not to forget the bathtub and the super fluffy robes)
I love breakfast – and I can honestly say, that Lygon Arms serves the best breakfast ever!
You can choose between continental breakfast or cooked breakfast – or have them both!
Breakfast at our favourite table by the fireplace. How I wish, that we didn’t have to go back home to London
As you can see, we didn’t miss out on anything. (This was the breakfast we had for two days in case you were wondering how we could eat so much!) My favourite was the omelet!
Happy camper!
Clara is sometimes allowed to watch Peppa Pig, when we eat. This gives us a bit of “freedom” to enjoy our food without too much attention-seeking! The joys of parenthood!
Time to say goodbye to the Christmas Tree… Clara is wearing one my favourite Danish fashion brands Mini a Ture Copenhagen
I would like to thank everyone at Lygon Arms for treating us so well! We absolutely love coming here! I can warmly recommend this place for everyone looking for a luxurious and cosy time in beautiful soundings. I wish all of my friends at Lygon Arms a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope to see you all again in 2020
We were invited as guests at The Lygon Arms. As always all opinions are my own
What a dream destination for Christmas. I have out this at the top of my Santa list for next year!
I know! There is no where like Lygon Arms for Christmas 🙂

Lygon Arms just looks stunning in every festive way! What a way to celebrate the lead up to the most magical time of the year! Love your cute courtyard room.
We felt so lucky being invited here at such a wonderful time of the year!
The Courtyyard room is unique in so many ways :-=

Everytime we are in Broadway we admire the grandeur of this place. Looks like now we really have to book ourselves into a room for a weekend.
