On a cold and windy autumn day in London, something very special happened. My family and I were invited to stay at Marriott Park Lane London for two nights – and Clara was the star of the show (as always!)

Just arrived at the 5-star Marriott Park Lane Hotel in Mayfair. The location is absolutely superb – with Hyde Park, Marble Arch and Oxford Street 2 mins walk away! (We had brought our new Capri Trolley from Brics – the perfect size for a little family getaway)

We had hardly arrived before this amazing trolley full of bears was presented to Clara! What a wonderful surprise it was! (I am sorry about the poor quality of the photo, but this is a screen shot of a video, I made of the “teddy bear arrival”, which was amazing. If you have seen my stories on Instagram, you will know how extremely excited Clara became)

Have you ever seen anything so cute? Clara was over the moon and took her time to eat the candy on the trolley and choose the right teddy bear

The final choice was made! Clara fell for the Princess Teddy and they have stayed together ever since. (Just wait to you see the photos… Clara did NOT go anywhere without her Princess Teddy)

Bonus-info: In an effort to make the stay of their little guests more enjoyable, London Marriott Park Lane Hotel has introduced Teddy Bear Butler Service in partnership with toy retailer Hamleys. Normally kids will be welcomed with the hotel’s bespoke in-room Teddy Bear Menu (It is on the trolley on the photo) consisting of 11 themed bears. From Beefeaters to the contemporary Pilot, the menu explains each bear’s name, their unique characteristics and what type of owner they are looking for. Due to the currently situation Clara didn’t get the menu in our room but was gifted a teddy bear upon arrival. I am sure, that she had no complains about that! The teddy bears will be “quarantined” 24 hours before meeting a new potential owner!

Cosy autumnal vibes in the lounge…

Welcome to our heavenly Premier Suite!

Bathtub approved! Isn’t it just beautiful? I love marble!

This is as luxurious as it gets! Our suite was huge (71sqft) and had a separate living room, two gorgeous marble bathrooms, a large hall, a king size bed and a sofa bed! Upon arrival Clara was spoiled with even more fun things to do…

Fun activities, candy and fruit for Clara….

– and cheese and biscuits for the adults! So delicious!

 – Again the Marriott Park Lane Hotel Staff had made sure, that Clara would feel like a princess during her stay… She had her own robe, slippers, special body lotion and adorable finger puppets!

The view from our bedroom! You can see Marble Arch behind the large tree. Hyde Park is on the left, and around the corner to the right, you will enter Oxford Street!

Why leave the room, when it has the perfect bed for jumping!

Did you know, that Princess teddy bears can fly?

This is what I love the most about our hotel stays… You have so much more time to spend with your family and you don’t have to think about boring chores… It’s pure quality and so important in times like these

Playing with daddy and finger puppets!

Watching a bit of television before going out for a little walk

Looking at London in all of her beauty

– and then it was time to jump again! Yes, Clara most certainly loved our suite!

Time to go for an evening walk…

As mentioned earlier, Marriott Park Lane Hotel is the perfect choice, if you want to stay near everything essential. Oxford Street is just around the corner with all its amazing restaurant, cafes, shops and department stores

I particularly love Selfridges, so this was on our agenda for the following day

Not all Christmas lights were lit, but it still felt like Christmas was just around the corner. I love Christmas and this time of the year, so I was excited to see the department stores’ Christmas assortment. Have you noticed that Clara is taking her Princess Teddy everywhere she goes? So cute!

Back home we got all cosy with pjs, robes and tea

The “Milk and Cookies” before bedtime was part of the Teddy Bear Experience. Isn’t that just lovely? The cookies were super fresh and the milk just what Clara wanted. (I had a cup of tea)

Precious mother / daughter time…

Bonus-info: As always Marriott Hotels offer cot beds for little ones. Clara is however allowed to sleep with us, when we are out and about, so she was quite pleased with the king sized bed. Sleep well, little one…

Good morning Clara! Ready for breakfast?

We enjoyed our breakfast at Lanes of London – one of Mayfair’s most celebrated restaurants…

Frenchie with his double Espresso and the perfect view of Hyde Park and the red London busses!

It is important to get a hearty breakfast before venturing out to explore our beloved city. We enjoyed a lovely omelet, a full English breakfast and a basket of warm pastries. So delicious! (Clara ate more than I have ever seen!)

Doesn’t Clara just look adorable in her Rachel Riley dress? She certainly knows how to “strike a pose!”

Regent Street… The perfect shopping location and 10 mins walk from Marriott Park Lane Hotel

In this area you will also find Liberty London – a stunning Tudor-revival building filled with high-end fashion and luxury homeware, with its own fabric line (that I adore)

What I really love about Liberty is, that they have brands here, that you can’t get most places! It’s a fun and beautiful department store

If you are around, you simply have to go to the 4th floor for the ultimate Christmas shopping. I can not control myself, when I am in here….

 – and neither could Clara!

Behind Liberty London, you will find Carnaby Street – a must visit in London. Carnaby Street is only two minutes away from Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus with its 150 shops and over 50 independent restaurants and bars…

Bonus-info: There is no dispute, Carnaby Street has an iconic heritage!. From being the birthplace of Swinging London in the 1960’s, the home of Mods, Skinheads, Punks and New Romantics to the street style tribes of today. Carnaby Street has and always will be the epicentre of culture and lifestyle in London’s West End. Read more here

Late lunch at The Good Egg… One of our favourite places in Carnaby’s iconic Kingly Court – a three-storey alfresco dining destination

As mentioned earlier, I love Selfridges… Especially the beauty section

I went to Laura Mercier for my favourite foundation…

Then it was time to check out the Christmas (and toy) store! Clara was delighted to meet a flying Santa…

 – and Her Majesty The Queen!

The Toy Store in Selfridges is absolutely amazing. We all fell in love with the F.A.O Schwarz musical wonder –  the famous giant floor piano you can play by stomping your feet across the keys! If you have seen my Instagram stories, you will know, that Clara spent A LOT of time there and had so much fun!

A quick visit to Disney Store, which is also located 5 mins walk from Marriott Park Lane Hotel...

– and then we went to see the famous “Still Water” statue right in front of our hotel, (in the background)

Bonus-info: “Still Water” is an outdoor bronze sculpture of a giant disembodied horse head captured as though the horse is drinking It was sculpted by British artist Nic Fiddian-Green and installed at Marble Arch in 2011. At 33 feet (10 m), “Still Water” is the largest free-standing bronze sculpture in London and has become one of London’s most loved landmarks. Mesmerising, isn’t it?

Just behind “Still Water” you can meet 21 adorable life-sized elephants (20 baby elephants and one mother)

The bronze sculptures — collectively titled “The Elephants of Tomorrow” are the work of artists Gillie and Marc, who use their talents to “spread messages of love, equality, and conservation around the world”

Each sculpture is based on an actual orphaned elephant, cared for by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. They include Enkesha, who nearly lost her trunk in a poacher’s snare and Jotto, found stuck in a well during the hottest month of the year. (Clara is having a cuddle with her favourite Malkia)

Bonus-info: It is hoped that “The Elephants of Tomorrow” installation will encourage more people to donate to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and adopt animal orphans. (I myself are planning on doing so!)

Time to splash around!… “The Club” at Marriott Park Lane Hotel has a lovely indoor swimming pool in their Wellness Centre – and we booked a slot, so we had the pool all to ourselves. Pure luxury!

Clara was SO excited. It has been a while, since she has been in a pool, so it was a great adventure for her

Up and down, Up and down! I think Frenchie had a nice work out in the water with his very insisting little girl!

Meanwhile someone was enjoying the heated room and the tranquility in a lounge chair

Another perfect mother/daughter moment… I get all sentimental, when I see this photo! How wonderful it is to spend quality time with your little one in times like these

I would like to thank Marriott Park Lane Hotel for offering us such an amazing staycation in our beloved city! Clara was the star of the show – and she loved every moment! The Teddy Bear Butler Service is such a brilliant idea, and I am sure, that Clara will not forget how special it was to choose from so many cute teddy bears and being spoiled with activities and delicious food throughout our stay.
