I love being the new girl in this city! Every time the seasons change, something exciting happens – each moment of the year has its own beauty, and right now London is all about Christmas

Southbank Centre Christmas Festival

I love Christmas – and so do Londoners! In Southbank Centre there is a Christmas Market going on right now, that I guarentee will brighten up the festive spirit. So lets go and have a look…

I’m on my way! Not letting the rain stop me from having a good time!

This is Gabriel’s Wharf, which has been converted into a lovely little area, where you will find a mix of independent shops. This arty enclave offers design-led shopping, from jewellery and ceramics, to fair-trade furnishings and affordable artwork. Also you can enjoy spectacular views of London’s skyline from the cafes and restaurants.

The South bank area stretches between Westminster and London Bridges on the south side of the river, and is a perfect location for a sunny (or a rainy) day’s stroll

Lining up for a refreshment! (hot chocolate was just what i needed!)

There are plenty of opportunities to stay warm along the riverside

Here we are! This little guy is part of the welcoming committee!

Once, you have entered the busy market, you will find plenty more than gingerbread to tempt you in the wooden chalets that will make up the Southbank Centre Christmas Market. Enjoy festive food and hot drinks, unique gifts, stocking fillers and treats – basically everything your heart desires!

Temptation everywhere!

I tried to convince Frenchie to adopt one of these little cuddly creatures!

Global street food chalets… It is hard to choose, when you just want it all!

Even the Vikings feel at home here!

Bonus-info: If you want to cosy up Scandi-style, there is a Rekorderlig Winter Lodge, which is a two-floor pop-up lodge with fire pits and Swedish food as well as hot and cold cider cocktails. It is open daily from 10am-10pm.

The London Eye is also open in December, if you want to have the best view of the city

I don’t know about you guys, but I think I would prefer the London Eye to this… (so no, it is not me sitting up there praying to get down safe and sound!)

I really enjoyed the Christmas Festival in South Bank! The opening hours are 10am-11pm Mon-Sun and the entrance is free! There is something for everybody to enjoy here, so bring your family, friends or sweetheart (and an empty stomach!)
