If you are looking for the perfect opportunity to get the most beautiful views of London, while relaxing with a lovely Afternoon Tea experience, then I have the answer!

This weekend Frenchie and I went on the “Afternoon Tea on Thames cruise” by City Cruises. I think it was one of the best Sundays, I have had for a long time!

City Cruises departs from Tower Pier, so I recommend that you jump on the tube and get off at Tower Hill Tube Station

Tower Pier is a perfect stop-off point for anyone wishing to explore two of London’s most famous attractions: the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. We decided to arrive early to get a closer look at London’s most popular attractions and landmarks

Having a tête-á-tête with the bronze statue of Trajan

The Tower of London, officially Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames. (Despite its grim reputation as a place of torture and death, within these walls you will also discover the history of a royal palace, an armoury and a powerful fortress)

It really was a beautiful experience walking around in this area! I highly recommend to take a little wander, before jumping on a boat!

Standing in front of Coppa Club and their giant igloos on their Thames-side terrace. Here you can eat and drink in the fully-heated igloos! I have to try this!

We also had time to visit The Tower of London Gift Shop. It was quite funny! Frenchie found a medieval knight helmet that he definitely wanted to bring home!

This is the Tower Millennium Pier and the place to find the boats!

It was quite windy this day…

– But luckily it was an all-weather sightseeing boat…

This is the boat from the inside! We were all warm and cosy and ready for adventures at sea

Perfect view from the window (and a little sneak-peek at the wine list) You can have as much tea and coffee as you want, but if you want bubbles or something else, there are plenty to chose from.

Afternoon Tea being prepared! Looked so yummy! (Bonus-info: you can select “vegetarian” when making your booking)

Enjoying a glass of Prosecco while looking at my beautiful city

Cheers!

Here are a few snapshots taken from the window, where I was sitting. This is St Paul’s Cathedral and Millennium Bridge

Tate Modern on the other side!

Shakespeare’s Globe! (The tour offered live commentary, so we didn’t miss out on anything!)

In front of the boat! If you look closer, you can see The London Eye in the background

You can read more about The London Eye here!

Time for tea! We had a lovely selection of sandwiches, traditional cakes, pastries and scones with clotted cream and jam (and Houses of Parliament and Big Ben in the background. What’s not to love?)

Everything was really nice and I can honestly say, I think the price for this experience is more than reasonable! You can get your tickets here

Time to go upstairs! (as it was very windy, we more or less had it all to ourselves! I really don’t understand, why people didn’t come up to have a look! It was incredible!)

Wind in my hair and beautiful Tower Bridge in the background!

I simply had to jump of joy! (I also tried to make a stunt from the chairs, but the very nice captain of the boat came and kindly asked me not to go crazy for safety reasons! He was probably right!)

Enjoying the last minutes before arriving at Tower Pier

I really, really had the best time ever! If you are a tourist, this is a must-see! But if you live here as I do, I would still go for this adventure! It is incredible how much, you actually get to see from The Thames. City cruises offer all kind of experiences on board, so take at look and choose which one is the right for you. (why not take your mother on the special Mother’s Day event?)
