I’ve said it before – and I’ll say it again! London is a Mecca for markets! There is no better way to spend a Saturday or Sunday in London than wandering the capital’s colourful street markets picking up cool crafts, vintage treasures or tucking into delicious street food.

Living in this neighbourhood, I often enjoy spending an hour or two at Partridges Food Market (image by Karen Walker)

Partridges Food Market began in 2005, when the owners of the family-run food shop decided they would like to make more use of the space outside their shop. The aim with this market was to celebrate the diverse and evolving world of fine, local, British and International foods and offer small producers, startup businesses and farmers the chance to share their delicious products and expertise with the public.

Located in the Duke of York Square this Saturday market sells everything from good quality French cheeses to cup cakes, Malaysian cuisine to Moroccan food. More than 150 small speciality food producers are involved with an average of over 40 stalls setting up shop each week.

My friend Lara was very interested in the cheese. I can’t blame her! Simply delicious 

Everything you heart (or tummy) desires can be bought here!

I was very happy to find out, that this place sells rye bread! (it is not an easy thing to find in London – and being a Dane I need my rye bread!)

Remember to bring cash. Cards are not really accepted here!

We had a great time at gourmet food haven Partridges Food Market – and visiting the parts of Chelsea surrounding it. This market really does have something to satisfy everyone’s tastebuds. It’s a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon – and do yourself a favour and drop into Partridges store while you are at it. It might be a bit pricey, but be assured you will not get dissapointed when it comes to quality!

The food market opens at 10am and closes at 4pm every Saturday!
