I think, I had one of my best evenings out ever in London yesterday! The city is so alive right now. Christmas lights and decorations everywhere you go – and people looking fabulous all dressed up and ready for Christmas parties. Christmas most certainly is the best time of the year!

On my way to the loveliest little hidden gem in London

Now there is a place in London, that I’ve actually never heard about until recently – and that is Dalloway Terrace. Dalloway Terrace is named after the eponymous character created by Virginia Woolf (an author whose name will forever be associated with Bloomsbury)

The restaurant is set in the heart of Bloomsbury, and you will find it, when you enter the lovely Bloomsbury Hotel.

Here we are. So where do we find this place also known as London’s best kept secret?

Love at first sight!

How can you not fall completely in love with Dalloway Terrace? I mean, I wouldn’t even be surprised if a reindeer came around the corner in this fully heated winter wonderland garden!

The menu card had so many great dishes – it took me around 15 mins just to chose what I wanted!

What I really wanted, was just to taste it all – and luckily Dalloway Terrace has a huge selection of small platters, so Frenchie and I decided to go for tapas-style

I can recommend the beautiful bottle of Riesling! By the way our waiter was amazing! He was so sweet and the service here is excellent!

Even my picky, French boyfriend was happy!

All set – and ready for food!

First we had the cheese fondue with classic Swiss cheese from La Fromagerie served with sourdough, root vegetables and charcuterie. It was so good, that we basically thought about getting more…

From the left: Crispy soft-shell crab with spring onion and chili. Quail Scotch eggs with chili jam, bacon and walnut. Steak tartare with confit egg yolk and sourdough

We also enjoyed truffle fries with parmesan and the most amazing salt and pepper squid

I really think the food in here is amazingly good! The prices are reasonable and the selection is great. You can get everything from a classic Bloomsbury burger to a fancy Aberdeen chateaubriand.

Dalloway Terrace also offers brunch and afternoon tea! I recommend, that you book in advance. The place is small and cosy – and very very popular

My dessert: a very yummy valrhorna and pecan nut slice with salted caramel ice cream. This was sooo good!

Everything in here is so tastefully designed

And don’t worry about being cold – the soft sheepskin rugs in the chairs will keep you warm!

Its hard to find words… Dalloway is more about a feeling! A feeling of being in fairytale world of beauty and peace...

After a lovely dinner we had a night cap in the bar at The Bloomsbury Hotel enjoying the beautiful Christmas tree

and no… we didn’t take the bike home – even though it is quite adorable!

I would like to thank the team from Dalloway Terrace for an amazing evening – especially Maria D’Amato, who managed to miraculously get us a table on a busy Saturday night!

We will definitely be back for more!
